My childs mother, (we where never married) is about to file for child support and lives in Louisiana and I live in Texas. Which state should I get a lawyer in? Also which states child support guidelines will I fall up under?

Depends. Is Mom filing an independent action, or is she going through the state CSEA? Are you the legal Dad, or will there be a DNA test involved?

LA CSEA may very well contact TX CSEA to help establish the order. If they do, you will be paying per TX guidelines. If you accept LA's jurisdiction, you will be paying per LA's guidelines.
