I unsure which state to petition for termination of child support payments due to emancipation. My child was born in Kentucky and I have an "Agreed Order of Paternity, Custody and Support" signed by a judge in the Jefferson County Family Court, Division Nine. The order was signed by the judge in May 1997, and this is the only order filed with a court. My child has already turned 18 and will graduate high school in June 2015, so I would like to terminate the child support payments after graduation. I currently live in Maryland, but my son and his mother live in South Carolina. Should I petition Kentucky or South Carolina to terminate the child support payments? Also, which form will I need to complete to terminate child support? Thanks.
