The order should specify an age or circumstance after which child support should cease.

And, if they have joint-legal custody, mom might not have the authority to sign for him to become a burden on society.

She Has Sole Physical Custody, since She Filled Out All The Papers Herself And There Is Only An Order For $600 Per Month,no Age Specified Or Other Stipulations.

Your hubby should be asking these questions, as he is the one who knows what the order *actually* says.

The please post - word for word, leaving out names, what the order says regarding LEGAL custody (physical is irrelevant) and child support. EXACTLY what it says.

Edited to add:

In Nevada, CS ends if one of the following occurs (though it would be best to file a motion to end support before not paying):

** when the child reaches 18 years of age (if the child is no longer in high school)
** upon high school graduation
** the child's 19th Bday

Looks like dad will be paying a little longer if he's going to allow a 17 year old to drop out... longer even than if the kid graduated.

States That Defendant Should Pay Child Support In The Amount Of 600.00 Per Month.

Also Plaintiff(his Ex) Is A Fit And Proper Person To Be Awarded Sole And Legal Custody Of The Minor Children, And Also Awarded Primary Physical Custody.

He Was Going Thru A Rough Time In His Life At The Time And She Filled In All The Blanks On These Papers And Pretty Much Took Advantage Of The Situation. So Now I Am Just Trying To Help Him With Some Of The Issues At Hand
Thanks

Well, he'll pay support until high school graduation or 19. Which ever comes first.

Unless he's in arrears. Then, he'll pay longer.

why is the concern on stopping child support rather than dragging mom's behind into court and making the kid have half a chance at a life
