Steps Once Release Of Judgment Lien Received?

What is the name of your state? California

Hello,
I am so relieved to type for the first time that my child support debt has finally reached the end!!!!!! I received a "Release Of Judgment Lien" form(s) from the county I OWED support to and I was just told to file this in the 2 Counties, this now closed case pertained to. What do I need to do to file these in their prespective Counties? Type of Law dept. I need to go to, what I might need to say to have this recorded correctly, ect...
Thank You for ANY responses that you take the time to answer, pointing me in the right direction.

Hello and congrats!

Seeing that this was a CS lien, I assume, then I would think that you would file it with the Court that had jurisdiction over your case.

I could be worng, seeing that I do not live in CA, but hey...I think that it's worth looking into.

Once again, congrats!

What is the form number that you have, who sent it to you and which 2 counties are involved?

The form has the following Number on the bottom left: DCSS 0240 I hope this is correct. There are few other numbers grouped togeather, but this looked closest to a form number. There is a bar code also. The counties are: originated in Butte County AND fillowed me to Los Angeles County.

Thank You For Your Time/Response Again,

Who sent it to you? At least one of those counties should have filed it themselves. Guess they're too busy now..

You will need to file them with the County Recorder if they have a lien on property (which it sounds like they do). Addresses will be easily found on the net. Congratulations!

Thank You..... My Case Worker told me that when I receive them, to file them with the courts, one form for each was received. I owned/own no property or anything of value for them to have a lien on. Do you think it was a lien in case I did obtain anything of registered value and the lien would automatically attach to the valued item? Do you know if the filing comes with a fee?

Thx Again

Could have been, who knows...stranger things have happened. The LA County Child Support Court is the Central Civil West Courthouse, located at 660 S. Commonwealth Ave. (corner of Wilshire and Hoover in the big glass building). You can file it there. Butte County you will either need to call or google. As for filing it, I'm not exactly sure if there is a fee and I'm too lazy to look it up right now. Go on the court's website www.lasuperiorcourt.org. There is a filing fee schedule online.
