What is the name of your state? CA

What is the difference from getting money from a wage assignment vs. a regualr child support payment? When I called the Child Support office it stated for the month of June, $XX amount was from a wage assignment. For May, $XX amount was from a regular Child Support payment. The wage assignment is not even half of the court ordered amount. Thanks for your time.

There is no difference. A wage assignment is just an order telling the employer to withhold the child support from his check.
