Anyone know if I have any recourse against the courts when they fail to appear.
Made a trip from FL to KY to resolve a child support issue. The domestic relations commissioner was fired or had quit. My attorney was never notified about the DRC and the hearing was canceled. Don't know when the hearing was canceled or when the DRC quit. Costs to me include airfare, pet sitter and other expenses. Can I recoup these expenses? What happens when the courts fail to appear. :mad:What is the name of your state?

Q: Can I recoup these expenses?

A: No.

Q: What happens when the courts fail to appear.

A: Usually nothing; maybe a nasty letter from somebody...that's generally the worst thing. If it continues, however, the guilty party may get kicked off the bench.
