Question

What is a UCC Financing Statement filed for?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MISSOURI

In a routine modification case, what would the reasoning be for filing a UCC Financing Statement?

Is it a lien against unreported assets or properties that the non-custodial parent may be hiding?

It's a Uniform Commercial Code filing. A fixture filing securitizing equipment, basically.

f I give you a loan to install windows, I may file a UCC.

If I own a grocery store, and Coca Cola has some special Coke coolers placed in my store, they may file a UCC protecting their coolers.

If I own a multi familty and contract coin laundry machines, the coin laundry equipment owners may file a UCC to put their ownership of the equipment on public notice. THus I cannot sell my eight family and INCLUDE the coin laundry equipment.

Certain contracts allow one to file a UCC.

So basically, the state of Missouri has filed a UCC to make sure that neither parent is hiding assets and to keep them from changing the owner name on current assets during a modification????

Advice Please

Anybody? any ideas on why the non-custodial parent would file a UCC financing statement? claiming ownership of children in the statement. I cant figure out what a UCC statement has to do with a child support review!

NOBODY "owns" children!

Slavery was abolished.

What is it the UCC filing claims to be securing?

strange..

Yeah, thats' what I thought. THis is really weird and I'm just trying to ge to the bottom of it. The non-custodial parent filed a UCC-1 claiming the children as personal property!! This is all over a regular 3 year review by the state just to make sure that both parties are paying/receiving a fair amount. I dont get it.

I thought UCCs had more to do with commercial property but I will keep searching until I get to the bottom of it.
Sounds bogus to me and the NC could be facing charges

That is VERY wierd. If you have a copy of it, be sure and take it to court and bring it to the judge's attention.
