The grandmother has custody of the 2 kids & received Ktap and is on disability.The father and mother are not together.The grandmother is the fathers mother.The court said they only go by minimum wage and not any lower they don't care if you don't have a job. The father pays his support of $297 a month the mother only was ordered to pay $60. Why wouldn't they both be the same? Confused in ky

The court has the discretion to assign different amounts to each parent.

Not like Dad's amount is all that high. Perhaps both parents need to find jobs.

I suspect Dad may be capable of earning more than minimum wage and was imputed a higher income.
