What is the name of your state? Florida.

I was arrested for a minor misdemeanor 18 years ago. I plead nolo and did community service and probation. I was told that the record was expunged.

I was recently deposed by the FL attorney general as a witness in a civil case. When asked if I was ever arrested I answered "no". because I believe the expungement is the same as if the arrest never happened. Am I correct?

No. The true answer would have been yes you were arrested.

Expungement means the conviction is removed, not the arrest.
