Automobile forfieture/theft/forgery

What is the name of your state?Kansas
My car was stolen from me back in May 2003, I was told if I reported it the people who took it would hurt me. Then in January 2004 the people who stole my car were busted using it on a drug sale and the car was taken by the police. When I found out that they were in jail and my car had been involved and was being held by the police department, I reported it stolen. It was then I found out that in November 2003 they called my bank and asked to have the lein removed. The car was payed for I had just never went down and asked to have it removed from the title. These people then forged my signature on the title and put the car in their name. I got notice from the courts about the upcoming forfieture on the car and I responded with my interest in the car. About 5 months later I recieved a notice that a decision will be made in court on September 1 2005. I want my car back, I deserve to have my car back since they stole it from me and then forged my name on the title. My statement said that I did not know at the time of the crime where the car was and what it was being used for. So am I entitled to get this property back, what should I say or do to make sure I do get the car back.

Your post makes little sense unless you were involved in this whole mess to begin with. So you knew them and you didn't report the crime, in some states that is YOUR tough luck once the vehicle is used in a crime.
