What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Missouri.
Several weeks ago we loaned our truck to our daughter who wanted to help some friends move. She didn't return the truck as previously arranged and the next day we had to go find it. When we got our truck back, there were two boxes of somebody's belongings and two guitars in the backseat. The truck was in a parking lot of an apartment complex and we had no clue what apartment they moved to and apparently neither did our daughter. We discovered later, she then loaned our truck to them. We've asked our daughter numerous times to contact this person to come and get their stuff but either they won't come or she won't contact them. How long do I have to hang onto these things before donating them to a thrift store? I don't want to be accused of stealing their things or be taken to small claims court.
