CONTRACT between Xbf and I****************************.

X bf and I drew up a legal contract 3 years ago in the amount of 10,000. It states that I will pay him the amount within 7 years. 6 months ago, Xbf decided to drop the contract between us and call it a truce. We drew up a contract stating he will no longer persue the 10,000 and promises to never take me to court again. Now he decided to reneg on the drawn up contract and is coming after me for the 10,000. Can he succeed in court? Or does he have to honor the drawn up contract which says he will no longer persue me?

I am currently in search of a lawyer who will handle this case. Does anyone know which lawyer I should hire? What kind of lawyer practices this type of case?

Any opinion or response is greatly appreciated.

CA
