Default Judgement in NY from arbitrator(small claims)I got a default judgement due to missing my date in court and I now live in Florida. The guy I owe money to says that he will have the sheriff come to my house to collect. Is that accurate? Can one transfer a claim to another state, and shouldn't I get a notice? Also would I have the opportunity to fight him in court if he attempts to transfer the claim? |

| The judgment holder will have to domesticate the judgment before he can attempt collection activity in your state.
