Question

How do I subpoena documents on my own?

I live in Washington State. I am being sued by a collection agency. I have been disputing the debt for almost two years and I am going to fight it in court. I cannot afford a lawyer. How do I go about getting the documents from the original company that alledged the debt? I need things such as personnel records, sign in sheets and a copy of health inspection records. I have requested a continuance and was given another 3 weeks. Not a lot of time. What do I do?

My response:

Well, without putting you through law school, and paying the tuition myself, I'd recommend that you go to your nearest Barnes & Noble bookstore and buy a good book on the litigation process and procedures, found in their "legal section".

Good luck to you.

Hey, let's be fair. Books can also be bought at Borders or any local bookstore or even ordered online via amazon.com or nolo.com
I just got my book order within 2 days from amazon. Simply amazin. So will start reading "An Idiot's Guide To Posting on Law Forums For Dummies".
