Someone in NJ asked me to lend him 5000 about 2 years ago with the promise to repay within 2 days. I have not seen a red cent since.
How do I go about suing him? Do I need a lawyer?

Do you have any proof? Did you get him to sign a written promise?

Or did you just happen to turn over 5 grand without even a receipt signed by him for the money?
