I assume this category covers Jury Duty. I read/heard in past that their is a possibility that you can be summoned for jury duty (someday) after registering to vote. Is so, anyway, would I be dismissed from jury duty if I just state I have been a victim of crime. Or how would it work.

Well, what if you're not called to a criminal jury? (There's no way to know what story may work to get you out of a specific case).

Each jurisdiction has its own way of selecting jurors.

Most of them get names from driver's licenses, tax rolls, voter registrations, etc. So, unless you are hermit who never goes anywhere and doesn't own anything, you may be called.

Claiming to be a victim of a crime is not an automatic out.

I was a crime victim and was seated on a jury this past year. I found the whole process very interesting. If it was possible to voluteer for jury duty, I would do it. I can't wait till the next time I am called.
