I had a verbal contract/equity sharing agreement with a former partner who has since sold the property and is refusing to pay me for my half of the profit. Both of us have since moved to other states - what are my odds on successfully getting a trial under the long arm statute in the state where the property in question is located?

While the answer to your question is very possible, since your agreement of and concerns land, your possibility of winning without a writing signed by the party it is to be enforced against is what Rexlan is referring to. (Aka the statute of frauds.)
