What is the name of your state? MI

If I file a motion to strike down an affidavit of account from collection agency in a civil court, do I have to include some case law from that state to support my claim that the affidavit is heresay or could I just argue that it's heresay because the person swearing in the affidavit has no knowledge of the accounts creation or maintenance over the years because this person only works at the collection agency that purchased the account and was never with the OC?
