What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? WV
We have been having issues with our neighbor for the past couple of years. We have involved our local police dept., but since he a city councilman, we have been ignored. Recently we had our property surveyed and realized some of his landscaping was over hanging our property. We spoke with our local pd and they informed him that he had 2 weeks to remove the overhanging trees. If he didn't do this within that time frame, they suggested we cut them ourselves and neatly place them by his garbage cans. We did this and when he came home, he walked into his house, came out with a gun and shot our truck. Our children were within 30 yards of this incident. Then he turned the gun on my husband, exchanged words and then he went inside his house. He is currently being charged with wanton endangerment. It was suggested by our prosecuting attorney to start a civil lawsuit against him. What charges do you recommend to be brought against him?
