Our former Accountant is suing us for an unpaid bill. We refuse to pay because it is already paid. The issue is with the counter-suit we are preparing to file. This accountant has done similar things to a lot of people on a smaller scale, and most folks would just blow it off.

I want to run a newspaper ad saying something like this... Mrs. Downey,
owner of The Santa Fe has been sued for alledged unpaid debt by Webb-Ervin Accounting. One of the items in dispute is for "Business Advice". Any
persons or firms who believe they were unjustly billed for "Business
Advice", or who have any other issues regarding Webb-Ervin Accounting please contact Stephen Downey.....

Am I treading dangerous territory here? I need advice fairly quickly.

Without the underlying suit being file, yes, you can be sued for libel and most likely lose.
