What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Hawaii

Few questions about temporary change of address:

1) Do I need to file this officially or can I just mail it to the court house and the Plaintiff's attorneys with extra copies for each (2 each I believe it was) since it's just a notice?

2) Assuming I need a certificate of service to show I sent copies the other party, do these need to be filed officially or can I just include this with the notice of temporary change of address?

3) If I can mail, do I just send to the generic address of the court? For instance for me, Hawaii 1st Circuit Court .. I see an address on Google. Should I send here and just include my case # on the outside?

>> In other words, can I mail all of this, or do I need to go file this officially within the Courthouse?

Not trying to sound lazy; I may have to do this another time and I'll be out-of-state so trying to see how this works. Thanks!

I'd serve it for your own protection. You don't want some important document that needs to be served to you to go through a round about way to get to you causing a much shorter time line to answer. File with the court and serve the other parties.

You are right. I want mail unless I have to.

Question though I saw that the lawyer has a "box" at the filing desk to drop in mail and such relevant to court cases. The clerk said I can drop it in there instead of mail. On the certificate of service you usually put their address but what does I put for an attorney Dropbox at the court house instead of an address? I don't know the official name for these boxes. Just discovered them.

How goes the trolling? Glad to see how you spend your days and even happier that I don't do the same. Most forums prefer new threads for different topics. Although relative to the same case, different topics. This entire sub thread is about civil litigation, shall we link to every thread ever made on this sub forum since it all pertains to the same root topic?

Stay of proceedings/continuance >> general advice about my options (1 year ago) >> confirmed moving, what to do on short notice, with updated info and now that I know more, I asked about different options >> more generic questions about proceedings >> questions about defamation. 5 posts over the course of 1 year with different topics related to the same case.

They're all about the same situation. You should have kept it all in one thread. That's what THIS forum prefers.
