I have a civil judgment against me by the state of New york since 1995 and would like to know if it is possible for me to have that judgment 'set-aside', enabling me to go into court and possible have the amount reduced? If thats possible, how could I go about doing so? And for an amount of $1700, is it worth getting a lawyer involved, especially since I'm a full time student without any main source of income?

I suggest that you try to settle on a reduced amount with the judgment creditor. I can't imagine what basis you'd have for opening it 6 years later, and you'd almost have to prove you would have won, and if so, where were you 6 years ago and why this late?
