Pamela goes to Spare Supermarket at Featherook Village to purchase a few items of groceries. It is a quite a dull day as there had been a cold front all week long and it rained very heavily for most of the week. Pamela had been to the optometrist earlier that day with a complaint about an eye infection. She was advised to wear dark shades to prevent further infection.

The staff at Spare Supermarket had been mopping the floors regularly due to the rains and the mud collecting on the floor on the store. The store is well lit. The staff was advised to put up one of the bright yellow signs that read “BEWARE-WET FLOOR!!!!” each time they mopped up.

When Marikie finishes mopping the floor at the entrance to the store, she looks for one of the bright yellow signs and she is unable to find one. She approaches the store manager Gami, who advises her to “make a sign”. Marikie was a little concerned as her handwriting is quite untidy indeed. Nevertheless, she makes up a sign on a green board with a highlighter as she assumes that due to the lighting in the store, patrons who frequent the store would be able to see the sign.

Pamela walks into the store and sees a green board but she is unable to read anything on the board. She is still wearing her dark shades. Pamela slips almost immediately and fractures her ankle. She is taken to the doctor by Gami. He returns to the store. Pamela is quite concerned at the bill which Flora Clinic had handed to her. Being a student she is usually financially distressed, she realizes that she cannot afford the bill. She recalls from her business law lectures that the store is liable for her medical and other expenses incurred as she has also missed her business law test sitting.

Concerned, she approaches you for legal advice as you have been highly recommended to her by Chris.
