California.
I am filing a lagal claim against a general contractor on a public works project. I have done all of my paper work in order. My attorney asked if I could get the payment bond information. I checked the recorders office, no record.
What is the procedure for obtaining a copy of the surety bond posted by a general contractor for a public works project?
Thanks

Whoever issued / signed the contract will have the information ... not the recorders office.
