What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? North Carolina

My brothers estate has now been put off for almost 3 years with one motion or another by his x wife. now we had a pertemptory court date set for tomorrow. and today her attorny had a motion to add someting to marital property. and they say they court date was changed but it is still on the calender for tomorrow the 2nd. Can they do this? All I have read said that a peremptory date can not be changed. I do not want to not be there and lose everything after my attorney said the date was changed.

I need an answer ASAP please
