Is this a perjury trap?
I am a pro se plaintiff in Federal court. I have a voice mail left by one of the defendants two years ago. In my complaint I quoted, word for word, the statement of the defendant, and said that the statement was from a voice mail. I have not yet been asked to provide any discovery evidence.
If I testify as to the statement, do not present the recording as evidence, and use it solely for impeachment, is this a perjury trap, and, if so, what will happen?
