What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TEXAS

I live in Texas and was visiting family in Oklahoma. I was served a subpoena by a process server while in Oklahoma to appear for a deposition in a civil case as a non party witness in an Oklahoma court case. I was not tendered a witness fee or mileage at any time. Am I required to appear or is there a jurisdiction problem. I do not want to have to go as this is burdensome for me.

have you talked to the lawyer that sent you the summons? he/she may allow a deposition... but doesn't have to.
