What is Disposition Deadline and to appear at "Preliminary Conference"?
What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York, NYC.
I am checking the NYS online case information, and it says Disposition Deadline is May 20th, 2009.
What does that mean? Does it mean if we don't respond we would be found guilty (it is financial case), and obligated to pay whatever is demanded, or does that mean the case would drop due to time lapse?
The notice was recently sent to my old address, if it was not forwarded to me, I would have no way of receiving or knowing about it, thus failing to appear. I was sent a notice asking me to attend a conference before a judge with the plaintiff.
Also where can I get information about what happens at this Preliminary Conference? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
