From California: Does it mean that no new motions can be entered while you are on leave? Does it post-pone your trial date without a motion? Does it halt or post-pone any upcoming hearings?

**A: doesn't it mean the judge suspends activity while go goes out and gets a burger?

That's what I thought... ;)

So, to go about this, do you motion for a leave to amend lunch? Do you have to detail the burger type and location of the proposed burger purchase?

Pixie, didn't we talk about this earlier or am I confusing you with someone else?

Anyway, "by leave of court" is a fancy way of saying, "is it okay?"

BUT give us a specific instance. That term is so general that your question is meaningless...unless it comes with onions.
