What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? US

When requesting attorney fees under 1988 for a 1983 claim, can you only request fees for the litigation directly related to the 1983 complaint or can you also request attorney fees for the rogue administrative process (in my case) where they deprived you of civil rights and from which the 1983 claim arose?

The attorney fees provision is in regards to litigating civil rights. (i.e. In your case, the underlying 1983 lawsuit.)
