I am not sure if this is in the right place but here goes:

So i used to collect watches but now i'm down to 3 watches, a Omega, Panerai and Breitling. I was ALWAYS told to carry the documentation of the watch with me when crossing border as a proof that it's my watch, it is NOT a replica and to avoid trouble/duties. I was also told that cops are allowed to stop me and ask for documentation on the street.

Anyone know of the laws that concern this? I'm looking for documentation that back up what i was taught for years and years (and applied a handful of times when i was asked for documentation/receipt of my watch, both at the airport and on the street).

Thank you!
