I am a part of a 501c 10 organization that is exclusively for women. It is classified as a social fellowship and not a sorority. As a national officer for the organization I have been trying to establish undergraduate chapters at local universities. I keep running into a problem, the universities claim that it is unlawful for an organization of my type, which is not Greek affiliated to start a chapter on the campus. How can I get around this? Is there exemptions available for social fellowships that dedicate their efforts to underrepresented groups of people?
