Back in June our 48 ft trailer was hit in a truck stop while parked. The other company (Maverick Transportation) paid our damages to the trailer but when we submitted our downtime claim (we lost 50+ days) they informed us that they are self insured and do not pay downtime on a trailer because a trailer does not generate revenue...(would love to see them load 42,500 pounds of freight in a tractor personally) and because it happened in VA..they do not pay downtime. If someone can give me some idea where to look to find out information to that fact...and about self insured companies and their polocies it would be appreciated. we are located in Indiana and Maverick is in AR.
