What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? FL

hi. we hired a tile installer to install tile. he caused a lot of water damage to our home. we were never able to move in. we have a few questions:
1. what is generally covered under a commercial liability policy for monthly living expenses as we are displaced from our home and living in a rental place?
2. the tile installer caused our window coverings to be covered in tile material (dust). would this be generally covered under an insurance policy or would it only cover water damage?
3. which code states that tile floors that are water damaged must be lifted and removed?
thank you.

I am not aware of any code requiring floors that are water damaged be removed. The issue there is water absorbs into the wooded sub floor, the wood when saturated warps, expands and breaks its bond with any adhesives attached to it. This will cause other undamaged flooring to become loose ultimately.

Commercial Liability and Tile Installation

hi. thank you for your responses. the tile installers moved and destroyed some appliances that leaked and damaged the tile floors and other things. there are no wooden floors. the tiles that were water damaged are very porous rock like tiles. this is a problem. please let me know:

1. what is generally covered under a commercial liability policy for monthly living expenses as we are displaced from our home and living in a rental place?
(this is a very standard question about most commercial liability policies. what expenses do they cover for the plaintiff?)
2. the tile installer caused our window coverings to be covered in tile material (dust). would this be generally covered under an insurance policy or would it only cover water damage? (what is the norm?)
3. which code states that tile floors that are water damaged must be lifted and removed? (this would probably be a building code rather than a statute.)
thnx again.
