Domain Name Violations?California I have owned a domain name since 1995. in 2000 British Petroleum (BP) wrote me a letter asking if I would be interested in selling the name, we'll call it www.bpxyz.com. At the time we had been spending about $70,000 a year on catalogs which had the domain name printed on them for the previous 5 years, we had also advertised the domain in many print publications and had favorable positioning on the search engines of the time. Stating all these examples I told them that it would be difficult but would consider an offer of about $250,000. I never received a reply. Recently I found several domains registered by BP which are my exact domain name with different country extensions! Such as www.bpxyz.com.ru, www.bpxyz.com.pl, etc. My exact domain name, including the .com the a country code at the end! Can they do that? |

| First: You don't ever "own" the domain name. Second: Do you have the money to fight BP on international level?
