ebay seller issue

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Colorado

I recently purchased from an ebay seller for $199.99 for access to a website where I could get Autodesk software. Once I was given the url, I realized that it is a student site and the software is there for students. I do not feel that this person should have the right to charge a student for the information or to give non students access to this information. I would like to get my money back and get the software from a more legitimate source. Does anyone have any information for me as to wether this sellers actions are illegal and on what basis I might be able to contest the sale through ebay or paypal?
