What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? AR

My friend entered his ex-girl friend's yahoo email account by guessing the security question and then by using this email he did reset her facebook account, but he did nothing then, he just gave her back the newpasswords.

but the girl went to police and did a file for my friend. What could be the worst case for this situation.

A year in jail and fines.
