What is the name of your state? Minnesota

Can a person have items dusted for fingerprints such as a key (for 3rd party prints) or their mouse or certain other things in their home office if they truly believe they have been wronged? Can private investigators dust for prints or is it only the Police who can do this? Do either need 'probable cause' in order to dust for prints? I would assume so. I know an ex-boyfriend violated my email for almost a year before I figured it out (he was saying and hinting at things that were said to others in emails) which is against State and Federal laws and since a 3rd party (his uncle) made it known that he knows where I live (I didn't tell him and I'm not in the phone book) and the fact that whenever one calls the other is listening in on the call - I'm wondering if I can somehow get a key or my mouse dusted for prints proving the Uncle is in on this situation too since he had more time (doesn't work). Both have lied repeatedly and listen in on phone calls - it's just sick!

HELP!!

Senior Judge:

Thank you for your response about the Statue of Limitations regarding email violations.

The fingerprints issue...do you know what I can do about that? If the uncle has been in my home - he never had permission if the uncle's prints are on the key the ex-boyfriend had or in my home office anywhere...then I've had someone in my home that never should have been here!

What is the legalities about getting fingerprints???
Hoping you can help!

You can have a private investigator search your whole house for fingerprints.

But, assuming you found other people's fingerprints all over the place, all it would prove is that you found other people's fingerprints all over the place.

Nothing more. Nothing less. Even if.

Fingerprints...

I agree with your reply and I thank you for it, however, I haven't been in my home all that long and the only people who have been up in my home office is myself, ex-boyfriend (once, and that was when I was here and who knows how many times he's been here when I wasn't), and whoever else's prints would be here. That's why if there are 3rd party prints (those of the uncle) then those prints would belong to the uncle and no one else!!!

So many bizarre things have occured through the uncle (ex-boyfriend calling the shots and listening in on phone calls the uncle made to me) that this whole thing is quite bizarre! I know the server will show my ex-boyfriends access into my hotmail account from his location (finding my password on a post-it in my home office; I know bad thing to do but I never thought I would be as deceived as I have been. I have morals and thought my ex-boyfriend did too but obviously he doesn't) or the server will show access from his uncle's place. Fingerprints on the key the ex-boyfriend had would prove whether or not the uncle has been here. When we broke up the ex-boyfriend went to his cupboard to get my key which originally had been on his key ring. Very bizarre!
