proxy server for Iran

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Louisiana

would it be illegal to set up a proxy server and limit it to only respond to Iranian ip addresses? I know we don't have normal relations with them. My intent is to help Iranian people get around their gov firewall. But i don't want to go to jail for treason.

Any thoughts??

it's not a static address, cable co will not give static ip's here
not worried about being blocked, can allways ipconfig /release-renew
had some feedback from a legal aide, said prob breaking international law by "trying to undermine a foreign gov" however the US does not have relations so I'm thinking prob won't be charged

just an IT geek, still need advise
don't want to be a "test case"

Hosting a proxy server, or any other server, is likely a violation of your terms of service with the cable company.

Also, as soon as they see a proxy in another IP address in the same subnet, they'll simply block the entire subnet.
