Apartment to Condos

Hello, I'm new to the boards, but to new to forums, so I know how these things work...kind of. I just recently bought my first home, a condo, in a apartment complex that I use to rent from that is being converted. My question is, Do the apartments need to have any sound proofing done to them before they are sold as "condos". I used to rent an upper, and bought a lower, and the sound that can be heard is almost unbearable!! Espessially when my upstair neighbors have friends over after "bar close"!! I will be ripping all my common walls and ceilings down very soon to do the sound proofing myself, I'm just wondering if I have any legal recorse from those that sold me the unit?

Sincerly,
Shane

Normally, no.
But as HG advised... check with your local building department.

That is a different matter.... and the answer is.... no.
But now that you are a 'common property' owner... you can certainly pursue your noise complaint in civil court against the 'noise maker'.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

**A: assuming facts not in evidence. In order to be brain dead, one must first have a brain.
