Hi all,
We have purchased a co-op in Brooklyn this year and asked the Board in writing to install split-system air conditioning. They denied our request saying that nothing could be mounted to outside walls. When we said that we could put it on the ground (we have the first floor terrace) they replied that it wouldn't be fair to other tenants! Is there anything we could do? the split-system is energy efficient and better for the environment!

Also, there are additional storage rooms in the building, all of which were sold years ago so we are never getting one. How is that fair to all tenants??

Run for spots on the board.

Not a great solution, but a portable A/C that you can vent out the window may work and be acceptable to them. Usually the vents are small 4-6" tubes.

Re : Co-op and split-system air conditioning

You can make the split system more efficient by servicing it on time to time by means of which it can run smoothly and provides you a healthy Air as well.By doing this Air Conditioning is more easier.
