| covenants and restriction vs by-laws
What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? SC
My Hoa tells everyone that ur Covenants and restriction are out dated(1978) and need to be rewritten **************.they think it can be done only by the Board.....but our Covenants reads
...... voted on and passed by 75% of the owners. Also they claim if you don't live on the property you can not run for office.....again our Covenants reads all home owners are
elgible for election for office......they claim they changed it by a Board meeting in the by laws that you have to live on the premises.
They act like the Covenants have no power.....I sayed that is the most imprtant document in our Association**************.how can you rewritte the Law????
Where could I go to get help ....is there a legal SC web page to read and got some info
on what is legal in sc???
