We recently purchased a new home in a new single family housing development in DEC 2005. In fact, we were the first to buy in this new development. The developer's sales agent indicated during the sales process that the pool & club house, trailer storage area, and the development's pier would be finished by Memorial Day 2006. Of course, this is exactly what we wanted to hear to convince us to purchase the home in this new development. When we closed on our house there was not anything in writing detailing when these amenities would be completed. I did however, pay $15,000 for a individual boat slip which would be part of the development's pier. Well here it is now July 22nd and none of the items are completed and the developer is not responding to request for information. Does North Carolina have any laws that protect home owners against these type of practices?
