HOA in Broward County FL

FLORIDA

In 2006 our HOA members voted FOR building new entry gates.
The project cost is 1.9M.
Now, in 2009, a majority of homeowners want the project stopped due to cost and the economy.
No contracts have been signed.
Equity Loan docs have not been signed.
The previous board that started this gate project has been recalled successfully.
The new board is not any better at listening and is pushing forward.

QUESTION:
Can the homeowners RESCIND their 2006 votes with a Letter of Rescission?

Thank You for your time.

**A: the answer is no but there are other egal ways to deal with this issue.

The HOA attorney should be involved.
