HOA requiring me to make changes from previous ownerWhat is the name of your state? North Carolina --The HOA was aware and actively involved in my closing of a townhome --A "frosted" window treatment existed from the prior owner --Two months after my closing HOA sent letter saying they had no record of request for the window treatment --I told them it was from the previous owner --HOA replied they still needed a request form "for their records" --I filled out the form explaining it was from the previous owner --HOA sent a letter saying the request was denied and told me I had to replace the window Is this legal? The HOA was fully aware of the change in ownership but never informed me that there were violations to the townhouse. Therefore I purchased a free and clear title. How can they require changes "after-the-fact."What is the name of your state? |
