HOA vehicle restrictions 2

What is the name of your state? Colorado

I am moving into a new neighborhood and I am aware that the HOA does not allow me to park my work vehicle at my house unless it can fit into a garage.
I have heard from several people that there is some either state or federal law that does not allow HOA's to keep a resident from parking their work vehicle on their property. Does anyone know anything about this?

Did you READ the Covenants and Restrictions PRIOR to moving in?

And no, there is no FEDERAL law about parking your work vehicle in your driveway.

There is no state law either. The law that applies is the condo rules of the HOA.

So thanks for the feedback. But Ginny... you should check your attitude a bit. It is obvious that since your divorce you have decided that all men are stupid but unlike your X, I did read the covenants and I have not moved in yet. Save your nasty for someone else.

you should check your attitude, you come on to a message board looking for advice and in your second post you insult a senior member who spends her free time here giving people free and accurate advice. nice job!

Thanks for defending me VL. He just doesn't like my signature line - I think I hit a nerve.

Oh OP - I spend HOURS researching HOA/Condo rules because of where I live (in an HOA with board members who have their up their ***.) I especially familiar with the car/work vehicle rules. Believe me when I wished there were a federal rule that didn't prohibit such.

HOA/condo rules exist only under state rules. Therefore, an HOA can regulate the placement of vehicles with signage. But whether it conforms with the city/county/state ordinances requires a lot of research on your part. If you don't like to live with lots of rules, I suggest NOT moving in a deed-restricted area.
