What is the name of your state? Florida.
I need to know if the HOA BOD can raise the association fees as they please. In a 2-month period, the HOA raised the fee twice, exceeding a 10% increase. Some of us owners have asked via phone messages and email, how did this happen and documentation of how this was voted upon and who made the decision be provided in writing. None of us has received a call or letter in response to our questions by the president or anyone in the office. However, we are still getting payment coupons with the new increased rate and the new increased late charge rate, as well. What are our rights as far as contesting or refusing to pay this new rate. There was no publication or notice that this was going to occur nor were we asked to attend any meeting regarding these actions.
