Never disclosed HOA increase

What is the name of your state? South Carolina
Recently purchased a new condo and settled on OCt 24, 2006. On Oct 11, 20006 there was a meeting to raise the HOA dues that was passed. We were never told prior to settlement about the increase,( which was a 40% increase), do we have any legal rights against the realtor for not disclosing this informtaion to us.
Thank you

Does your contract state what the HOA dues are?

When does the increase take effect? I doubt you have any recourse, that is one of the risks of buying the a condo or residence in a HOA. They may have had a duty to disclose the meeting, but what would your damages be???? Especially if you could back out of the purchase anyway? More info is needed.

The bottom line: You are upset, and reasonably so, but who is to blame? Really no one. That is the way the cookie crumbles...
