Non-Disclosure Of Leaking Condo


What is the name of your state? Illinois

We purchased a duplex condo back in December of 2006. Since that purchase, our lower level has been flooded and everything destroyed by water two times. At the time of the sale, there was no mention of flooding, and I asked the seller and the seller's real estate agent if there had ever been any water or water damage in the unit. They told me no, never. I have since come to learn that, on the same day the previous owner moved it, there was a flood in the lower level. The didn't disclose this in the contract, and when asked about it they flat out lied. I never would've bought a condo with a flooding problem, and now I don't know what to do. Sure, the natural reaction is to go after the seller, but, really, no amount of money can fix what will be an ongoing problem that will most likely stop me from being able to sell the unit. Is there anything for me to do about this?
