Our HOA fees are absolutely outrageous!! Is there a law on how high they can keep raising them? We have lived here for not quite a year and a half, and the fees have been raised at least three times. We also were wondering if it is legal to have different residences of the same complex pay different amounts of HOA fees. One of our neighbors is paying $100 less a month than us.

There are two common reasons why that could occur:

First, it is possible that your neighbor simply has less square footage than you do. If you suspect this is the case, grab a tape measure and get to work.

Alternatively, maybe the neighbor is just "special" and you're not. In that case, try not to be jealous.
